MISSION STATEMENT: The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization comprised of business and business oriented members dedicated to the development of a prosperous economic climate that will enhance commercial growth and the quality of life for all who reside in the Mohawk Valley.
To achieve its mission statement The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce offers several services and benefits to its members to cultivate a positive and prosperous business environment. Services and benefits offered include low cost advertisement, member to member discount programs, group health insurance, Weekly Member Mentions, and an online directory consisting of all our members.
The Chamber also hosts an array of member events such as The Choo Choo Golf Outing, Business of the Year Awards, Business After Hours, and The Annual Membership Meeting & Business Person of the Year Award. These events offer an excellent venue for members to network with other professionals facilitating a close knit business environment.
Members have the opportunity to become involved with the Chamber and community first hand by participating in the Chamber’s many councils. These include The Government Affairs/ Economic Development Council, The Publicity and Tourism Council, The Membership Council, The Small Business Council, The Ambassador’s Club, and the Catalyst Group (Young Professionals Group). Each individual council has its own purpose and goals. The culmination of these purposes and goals work towards the development of a prosperous economic climate that will enhance commercial growth and the quality of life for all who reside in the Mohawk Valley.
Roles
The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce is seeking a well-rounded candidate that can follow directions, complete tasks in a timely manner, and has the ability to assist members in a positive and respectful manner. Once chosen the position will report to the Executive Director and complete tasks as directed. The tasks will vary daily and can be expected to include the following;
• Gathering information of emails for the weekly Member Mentions
• Loading member press releases to the Greateruticachamber.org
• Organizing and assisting with the posting of the social media calendar of the Chamber
• Assisting with Social Media
• If comfortable attending in-person events, Attend and assist with various chamber events this may include:
- Taking Photographs at events
- Hanging Banners and help with setup
- Helping with Registration
- Assisting guests and members
- Assist with anything else as needed / instructed
